“And it came to pass, when ( יהושע )YaHUShA had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities. Now when Yochanan had heard in the prison THE WORKS OF MESSIAH, he sent two of his disciples. And said unto him, Are you he that should come [Messiah] or do we look for another [Messiah]” Mattithyahu (Matthew) 11:1-4
So the answer that YaHUShA need to give is His claim that He is the Messiah. HE USES ANALOGIES TO EXPLAIN and His answer is? “Go and show Yochanan AGAIN those things which ye do HEAR and SEE: Mattithyahu (Matthew) 11:5,6 “The BLIND receive their sight, and the LAME walk, the LEPERS are cleansed, and the DEAF hear, the DEAD are raised up and the POOR have the good news (besorah) preached to them. And BLESSED is he, WHOSOEVER SHALL NOT BE OFFENDED IN ME.” WHY DOES HE ADD THESE WORDS, “and blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in Me”? Because according to Yochanan 10:16, it is said that “them also I must bring and they [Ephraim] (((shall))) HEAR my voice [i.e. will believe that He is the Messiah and WOULD NOT BE OFFENDED!];” Now how would that answer gave Yochanan the assurance that He was the Messiah? Because YaHUShA knew Yochanan would have followed a very basic yet crucial guideline found in the book of Yeshayahu where he notes, “Whom shall He teach knowledge, and whom shall He explain the message? Those weaned from milk, those moving from the breasts. For it is PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT, PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT, line upon line, line upon line; a little here and a little there.”Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 28:9-10
Put another way, since the Scriptures are written in parable form, one can not fully understand any passage or verse in and of itself. He must place it in context with everything else that is being said and taught by the Scriptures in order to come to the truth of any given matter. The failure to follow this guideline has led to a lack of KNOWLEDGE about basic Scriptural doctrine and the techniques utilized to express them. However, for Yochanan, it was a case closed, signed, sealed and delivered!
So we are going to turn to the Scriptures, “precept upon precept” in the way Yochanan would’ve done, to see who are the BLIND, the LAME and so forth. And what we are going to see is that ALL those are terms used to describe YShREL in their exiles and their condition AFTER being scattered into the Nations and removed from the Torah! Note Messiah’s words, “which ye do HEAR and SEE:” They could see how the BLIND receive their sight (literally). But they could also SEE how the BLIND receive their sight (figuratively) as I will prove from Scripture! I will use one example for each, however it takes a child to know that there are many, too numerous to mention!
In Yeshayahu 42: 18, 19 and 24 it is written:
“Hear, ye DEAF; and look ye BLIND that ye may see. WHO is BLIND but MY SERVANT? Or DEATH, as my MESSENGER THAT I SENT? Who is BLIND as he that is perfect and blind as YaHUaH’s servant?”
We so often want to believe that the one’s not believing in Messiah are the one’s that are blind. But He says that His servant are actually the one that is blind! Or the messenger who is sent out to proclaim the ELaHYM of YShREL who turns out to be deaf! CONTINUING ON to verse 24 that says:
“Who gave Ya’aqob for a spoil and YShREL to the robbers? Did not YaHUaH, He against whom we have sinned? For THEY would not walk in his ways NEITHER WERE THEY OBEDIENT UNTO HIS TORAH.”
So being NOT obedient to the Torah, YaHUaH referred to them as being BLIND and DEAF! But in order to HEAR and in order to SEE, we need to REPENT (return) and walk in His Torah! So by Him explaining to Yochanan that the BLIND receive their sight, and the DEAF hear, is Him explaining that they [Ephraim & Yahudah] return to His commandments found in the Torah! They were once lost (transgressing Torah) but now they are found (following Torah, through Messiah) as further explained by Sha’ul in Eph’siyim (Ephesians) 2: 12,13.
In the state of YShREL not knowing YaHUaH’s right rulings set out in the Torah, YaHUaH revered to them as being POOR! “Then I said, ‘These are only the POOR. They have been foolish, for they have not known the way of YaHUaH, the right rulings of their ELaHYM.”Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 5: 4
In Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 37: 1-4, 5 and 11 the exiles of YShREL is likened unto being DEAD or dry bones! REMEMBER THOUGH! These bones are the WHOLE house of YShREL (Ephraim and Yahudah, all twelve tribes!). NOTICE ALSO when they are CUT OFF from their part, when Northern Kingdom is separated from Southern Kingdom that their hope is LOST!!! When they come together, they have hope! Why? Because the gathering is associated with the role of the Messiah as the GOOD SHEPHERD to bring into them a Spirit so that they may live and to fulfill His task, that which He promised He will do!
“For thus saith YaHUaH; Sing with gladness FOR Ya’aqob [all twelve tribes], and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O YaHUaH, save thy people, the remnant of YShREL. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the BLIND and the LAME, the woman with child and her that travails with child together: a great company shall return thither.”Yermeyahu (Jeremiah) 31: 7,8
Saving the remnant of YShREL is Him gathering them from the Nations where they have been scattered during the time many call the great tribulation when the hunters are coming after them! And notice what it says regarding this task! (((shout it))), (((publish ye))), (((praise ye))), and (((say, O YAHUAH, save thy people, the remnant of YShREL))). It is important to note that the FIRST EXODUS explained a people who came out of Mitzrayim (Egypt) and brought along a MIXED MULTITUDE – Non YShRELy physical descendants. And those could also came out of Egypt IF they had put the blood on their door post, if they did not, death of their first born! So who is the house of Ya’aqob at Mount Sinai? It is the physical descendants of the Avraham, Yitshaq and Ya’aqob in addition to the mixed multitudes, TOGETHER CALLED THE HOUSE OF YA’AQOB! The mixed multitudes are regarded as strangers, sojourners, adopted, grafted in! And in the above given prophecy we are told of a SECOND EXODUS where a people will come from the North and from the coasts and with them the BLIND and the LAME, … “a great company shall RETURN THITHER” i.e. again there will be a MIXED MULTITUDE! But in their state of being lost and not yet reunified they are regarded as BLIND and LAME!
Now in Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 36: 17 for example it says, “Son of man, when the house of YShREL dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings”. Have we not defiled the land by our own ways such as our own feast days (Christmas and Easter where there is no Scriptural basis) rather than celebrating those feast days that were commanded for “all generations” by YaHUaH? YaHUaH said, “Their way was before me as an uncleanness of a removed woman.” So YShREL in their state of exile where they practice pagan roots and feasts are considered to be likened unto an uncleanness of a removed woman. Doesn’t this remind us all of the issue in the Scriptures of a woman with the issue of unclean blood, who touch the hem (tzitsits) of YaHUShA’s garment and she was healed? Her status having a issue of blood is an allusion to the condition of YShREL. It is paramount that we also reach out and take hold of the hem of the garment so that we also may be cleaned and be healed from our wrong doings such as Christmas & Easter practices in today’s society! Why do I say this? A close study of Zekaryah (Zechariah) 8:20 will show us that YaHUaH promised us and said, “In those days [i.e. sometime in the future], ten men from all languages of the nations take hold, yes, they shall take hold of the edge of the garment of a man, a Yahudi, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that ELaHYM is with you.” Why the Yahudim? Because Yahudah ( יהוךה ) were entrusted with the Words/Oracles of ELaHYM and once their blindness to the Messiah has been removed, they will teach us the gems in the Hebraic Roots as never before! So by Him explaining to Yochanan that the LEPERS are cleansed is Him explaining that they [Ephraim & Yahudah] quit their own ways and their own doings and start to follow YaHUaH’s set of commandments! It is also important to note Melakim Aleph (1 Kings) 8: 46 and Dani’el 9: 7 where it is said that the exiles are regarded as being “NEAR” and “FAR OFF” in their exile! And also regarded in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 32: 26, 30; Yeshayahu 50:1; 52:3 as being SOLD into the Nations! But the promise is that we shall be redeemed WITHOUT MONEY! By the blood of YaHUShA!
So what are the summary of the terms which describes the exiles of YShREL? And what proves that YaHUShA is the Messiah?
The BLIND (YShREL in their exile) recieve their sight (Believe in YaHUShA and begin to see the Torah for what its worth).
The LAME (YShREL in their exile) walk (follow Torah). The LEPERS (YShREL in their exile) are cleansed (sins are forgiven).
The DEATH (YShREL in their exile) hear (Hear the good news and believe the good news as written in Kepha Aleph (1 Peter) 1: 22-25).
The DEAD (YShREL in their exile) are raised up (in gathering of the exiles, the dry bones that will be brought back to life).
The POOR (YShREL in their exile) have the good news preach to them.
This all to explain that He (YaHUShA) is the Good Shepherd who has the task of gathering the scattered YShREL who is the Messiah!
